Ingredients:
- Bitter guard/ Karela(slice) - 3 medium
- Green chilli(chopped) - 2
- Tomato(chopped) - 1
- Onion(chopped) - 2
- Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
- Red chilli - 1/2 tsp
- mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
- garlic - 10 pods
- ginger - 1/2 inch
- Mustard Oil - 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
Method:
- Clean and cut the bitter guard and boil it adding some water, salt and turmeric powder in a pressure cooker.
- Make a coarse paste of ginger and garlic.
- Heat the 1 tbsp oil in a panand fry the boiled karela till water is evaporated and keep a side.
- Again put another 1 tbsp oil in the same pan.
- Put mustard seeds, cumin seeds and green chilli in to the pan.
- when it begins cracking then add onion and saute it till onion became light brown color.
- After that add ginger and garlic paste and fry for 3 mins.
- Finally add chopped tomato, salt and cover it till tomato became soft.
- Then add fried karela and saute it for 5-10 mins in slow flame.
- Server hot with chapati.
