Moong dal dry curry(ମୁଗ ଡାଲି ଶୁଖା)


Ingredients:

  • Moong dal - 1 cup(ମୁଗ ଡାଲି)
  • Carrot - 1/2 cup(ଗାଜର)
  • Green peas - 1/2 cup(ମଟର)
  • Onion - 1 medium(ପିଆଜ)
  • Green chillies - 2(ଲଙ୍କାମରିଚ)
  • Garlic(chopped) - 5-6 cloves(ରସୁଣ)
  • Curry leaves - 1 sprig
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp(ଜିରା)
  • Curry powder - 1/2 tsp (ତରକାରୀ ମସଲା)
  • Tomato(chopped) - 1 medium(ଟମାଟର)(optional)
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp(ହଳଦୀ ଗୁଣ୍ଡ )
  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp(ଲଙ୍କା ଗୁଣ୍ଡ)
  • Oil - 1 tbsp (ତେଲ)
  • Salt to taste(ଲୁଣ)

Method:

  • Wash the moong dal and boil it 75 % along with salt and turmeric powder and keep a side.
  • Heat the oil in a pan, put cumin seeds,when its cracking then add green chillies,curry leaves and chopped garlic;saute it for couple of mins.
  • Then add chopped onion,grated carrot and peas and cook it on medium flame for 2-3 mins.
  • Finally add chopped tomatos(I am not using tomato,If u want to add..u can ...),salt,turmeric and curry powder;mix it well,cover it and cook it till tomatos  became soft or mashy.
  • Finally put boiled moong dal and mix it well and cook for 2-3 mins.

  • Serve hot with chapathi.
