Methi matar malai(ମେଥି ମଟର ମଲୈଇ)

Ingredients:

  • Methi(chopped) - 1 cup(ମେଥି)
  • Boiled green peas - 3/4 cup(ମଟର)
  • Green chilly - 1(ଲଙ୍କାମରିଚ)
  • Garlic - 10-12(ରସୁଣ)
  • Ginger - 1 inch(ଅଦା)
  • Almond - 5-6(ବାଦାମ)
  • Cashew - 5-6(କାଜୁ)
  • Tomatoes (chopped) - 2 medium(ଟମାଟର)
  • Cream - 50 grm or cooked thick milk - 1 cup(କ୍ରିମ୍/ଖିର)
  • Chopped Onions - 2(ପିଆଜ)
  • Jeera powder - 1/2 tsp(ଜିରା ଗୁଣ୍ଡ)
  • Dhania powder - 1/2 tsp(ଧନିଆ ଗୁଣ୍ଡ)
  • Garam masala - 1/2 tsp(ଗରମ ମସଲା
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp(ହଳଦୀ ଗୁଣ୍ଡ )
  • Kashmiri chiili powder - 1 tsp(ଲଙ୍କା ଗୁଣ୍ଡ)
  • Dry roaste kasturi methi - 1/2 tsp
  • oil/butter - 2-3 tbsp(ତେଲ)
  • Water/milk - 1 cup(for gravy)(ଖିର)
  • Salt to taste(ଲୁଣ)

Method:

  • Heat the pan and add methi along with salt and cook for couple of mins so that the raw taste wiil go.
  • Boil the green peas.
  • Heat butter in a pan.Add cashew and almond and saute it for a second.
  • Then add ginger,garlic,green chilli and onion and cook on medium flame till onion became soft,then add tomatos and cook it till tomatos became soft and keep a side and let it be cool.
  • Grind the fried masala.
  • Heat oil in a pan,add turmeric powder,chilli powder,jeera and dhania powder and saute it for couple of min.
  • Then add ground masala and mix it well and cook it for 5 mins till masala cooked well.
  • Add methi and green peas and mix it and cook on medium flame for 5 mins.
  •  Add cream or thick milk and cook for 5 mins.
  • Add 1 cup water or milk and mix it and cook for couple of mins.
  • Then add Garam masala powder and kasturi methi and mix well and cook for a couple of mins.
  • Serve hot with chapati or rice..
