Tawa Wada(ବରା)

Ingredients : 

  • Black lentil / urad dal  - 1 cup(ଚୋପା ଛଡା ବିରି)
  • Curry leaves(Chopped ) - 2 tbsp
  • Green chillis(Chopped ) - 2(ଲଙ୍କାମରିଚ)
  • Onion(chopped) - 2 medium(optional)(ପିଆଜ)
  • Ginger(Chopped ) - 1 inch(ଅଦା)
  • salt to taste(ଲୁଣ)
  • Oil - 3-4 tbsp/as required(ତେଲ

 Method:


  • Wash and soak the black lentil for 3-4 hours. 
  • Drain excess water and transfer to a mixer jar. 
  • Grind into a smooth paste with minimum water. Keep aside to ferment for about 4 hours.

  • Add chopped Curry leaves, Green chillis,Onion, Ginger and Mix thoroughly.
  • Heat the oil in a pan.
  • Put spoonfuls of batter on the tawa and lightly spread. Drizzle with more oil.
  • Flip over when cooked on one side.
  • Cook on the other side till light brown. 
  • Remove from the pan and serve hot with tomato catchup.
