Sweet Pulao (ମିଠା ପୁଲାଉ)


Ingredients:
  • Rice(Basmati/plain) - 2 cup(ଚାଉଲ)
  • Potatoes(cube size) -2 (ଆଳୁ)
  • Green peas - 1/4 cup (ମଟର)
  • Carrot(cube size) - 1(ଗାଜର)
  • Green chillies(slit) - 2
  • Beans(chopped 2-3 inch) - 5-6 (ବିନ୍ସ୍)
  • Cauliflowder - 4-5 florets(ଫୁଲକୋବି)
  • Grated ginger (adrak) -1 tsp(ଅଦା) 
  • Sugar - 1/2 cup
  • Cardamom - 2(ଗୁଜୁରାତି)
  • Cinnamon - 1 inch(ଡାଲଚିନି)
  • Cloves (laung / lavang) - 4(ଲବଙ୍ଗ)
  • Bayleaf (tejpatta) - 1(ତେଜପତ୍ର)
  • Turmeric powder (haldi) - 1 tsp(ହଳଦୀଗୁଣ୍ଡ )
  • Ghee - 2 tbsp(ଘିଅ)
  • Cumin seeds (jeera) - 1 tsp (ଜିରା)
  • salt to taste(ଲୁଣ)
 Method:
  • Heat the ghee in a pressure cooker and add cumin seeds.
  • When the seeds crackle, add green chillies, ginger, cloves and bayleaf and saute for 30 seconds.
  • Add the vegetables and salt according to vegatable, turmeric powder and mix well and cook for 2 -3 mins.
  • Wash the rice, then add the rice,dal and saute it for couple of mins.
  • Then add 4 cup boiled water, Sugar, salt and cover and pressure cook for 4 whistles.
  • Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid.
  • Serve hot with dalma/dahi.
