Curd/Dahi Fish(ଦହି ମାଛ)

Ingredients:

  • Fish(Rohu/Katla) - 1/2 kg(ମାଛ)
  • Curd - 1 cup(ଦହି)
  • Tomato paste -1 large or 1/2 cup(ଟମାଟର) 
  • Garlic - 5 cloves(ରସୁଣ
  • Onion - 1 large(ପିଆଜ
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp (ଜିରା)
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp (ସୋରିଷ)
  • Mustard oil - 4-5 tbsp(ସୋରିଷ ତେଲ
  • Chilly powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp(ହଳଦୀ ଗୁଣ୍ଡ )
  • Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp (ଗରମ ମସଲା)
  • Salt to taste(ଲୁଣ)
  • Coriander leaves(finely chopped)(ଧନିଆ ପତ୍ର)

Method:

  • Grind mustard seeds, cumin seeds,garlic and 1 onion in quarter cup of water to make a fine paste of spices.
  • Cut the tomatoes and make it fine paste.
  • Cut the fish into big pieces and wash them properly in water.
  • Add salt and turmeric powder to it and mix it well and keep aside for 10 minutes to marinate.
  • Heat the oil in a pan.
  • Add some cumin seeds, when it starts cracking,add masala paste and tomato paste and stir it for 2 mins.
  • Then add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, curd and 1/2 cup water nad stir it for a couple of minute.
  • Add Marinated fish and close the lid and cook for 5 mins.
  • Then add garam masala and cook for a couple of min.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Server hot with rice.
