Corn cob curry(ମକା ତରକାରୀ)


Ingredients:

  • 1 whole corn on the cob boiled and cut into 1 cm rounds(ମକା)
  • Onion(chopped) - 2 medium(ପିଆଜ)
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp(ଅଦା ରସୁଣ ବଟା)
  • Curry leaves - 2-3
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp(ହଳଦୀ ଗୁଣ୍ଡ )
  • Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp(ଜିରା ଗୁଣ୍ଡ)
  • Peanuts coarsely ground - 2 tbsp
  • Cream - 1/2 cup(କ୍ରୀମ୍)
  • Oil - 2 tbsp(ତେଲ)
  • Tomato paste - 1/2 cup(ଟମାଟର)
  • Chilli powder - 1 tsp(ଲଙ୍କା ଗୁଣ୍ଡ)
  • Salt to taste(ଲୁଣ) 

Method:


  • Heat the oil in a pan.
  • Add chopped onion, curry leaves  and saute it till onion turns to light brown color.
  • Add ginger/garlic paste and fry till translucent.
  • Add the tomato paste,salt, chilli powder, cumin powder,coriander powder,turmeric and cook till oil is comes out from mixture..
  • Add the peanuts and cook further 5 minutes.
  • Add the corn on the cob and 1/2 cup water and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Add the cream and simmer for another 5 minutes.
  • A little extra water can be added the gravy should be thick.
  • Server hot with rice.
