Oats upma(ଓଟସ୍ ଉପମା)

Ingredients:

  • Oats – 1 cup (ଓଟସ୍)
  • Onion(chopped) – 1(ପିଆଜ)
  • Ginger(chopped) – 1 inch(ଅଦା)
  • Green Chillies(chopped) – 2
  • Chana dal – 1 tbsp(ବୁଟ ଡାଲି)
  • Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp(ସୋରିଷ)
  • Turmeric powder - 1 pinch(ହଳଦୀ ଗୁଣ୍ଡ )
  • Carrot(chopped) - 1(ଗାଜର)
  • Beans(chopped) - 5 nos(ବିନସ୍)
  • Ground nuts - 2 tbsp(optional)(ବାଦାମ)
  • Oil – 2 tsp(ତେଲ)
  • Salt as taste(ଲୁଣ)
  • Water – 1/2 or 1 cups(ପାଣି
  • Curry Leaves – 1 strig

Method:

  • Heat 1 tsp of oil in a pan.
  • Add mustard seeds.After its cracking, add channa dal, Peanuts and fry them till they turn to golden brown colour.
  • Then add curry leaves.Then add  green chillies, ginger and onion and saute them well.
  • Add Chopped carrot, beans and saute them well.Add salt and turmeric powder required for the vegetables.
  • Once the vegetables are cooked, add oats and mix well. Cook for a minute.
  • Then Sprinkle water little by little. Close the pan with a lid and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Again Sprinkle water and cook by closing it with a lid for 2 –3 minutes.
  • serve hot.
