Chicken Chickpeas/Chana dal masala


Ingredients:

  • Chicken -  1 kg 
  • Cinnamon - 1inch
  • Bay leaves - 1 (ତେଜ ପତ୍ର)
  • Chickpeas/Chana Dal – 250 gms
  • Onion – 5
  • Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp
  • Red chillie powder – 2 tsp
  • Turmeric – 1/4 tsp
  • Garam masala – 1 tsp
  • Chicken Masala - 1 tsp
  • Oil – 2 tbsp

Method:

  • Soak the chickpeas for one hour. 
  • Cut the onion(small size).
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add Bay leaves, Cinnamon, Onion and fry the onions till soft and translucent. 
  • Add ginger garlic paste, curry leaves, turmeric, red chilli powder and fry for two minutes more. 
  • Now add chicken peices, Chicken Masala and salt as required, mix well and cover it. 
  • Drain the chickpeas from water and add to this after five minutes and mix well. 
  • Fry for 15 minutes till the water evaporates and add a cup of water . 
  • Cook it on medium heat till the chicken peices are cooked , dal is also cooked but separate.  
  • Add garam masala and remove from fire.. Serve hot with rice and Paratha.
