Chicken Korma


Ingredients:
  • chicken - 500 grm (ଚିକେନ୍)
  • oil - 4 tsp (ତେଲ)
  • onion(chopped) - 3 medium (ପିଆଜ)
  • salt - to taste (ଲୁଣ)
  • garam masala powder - 1 tsp (ଗରମ ମସଲା)
  • ginger garlic paste - 3 tsp (ଅଦା, ରସୁଣ ବଟା)
  • cumin powder - 1/2 tsp (ଜିରା ଗୁଣ୍ଡ)
  • chili powder - 1/2 tsp
  • crushed black pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • water - as needed
  • poppy seed/cashewnut paste - 1 tsp (କାଜୁ ବଟା)
  • green chilies(slit) - 4
  • milk - 1 cup (ଖିର)
  • sugar - 1/2 tsp (ଚିନି)
Method:
  • Heat a pan ,add 2 tsp oil add chopped onion and cook the onion till it turns golden brown in colour.
  • Now add ginger garlic paste and cook for 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
  • Blend together onion, ginger and garlic paste in a mixer grinder.
  • Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan, add onion, ginger garlic mixer, sugar,cumin powder,green chilies, pepper powder, garam masala and cook for 3 minutes. 
  • Add chicken and salt to this and cook for 15 minutes(if required add water).
  • Blend cashew nuts,water to smooth paste.
  • Add cashew nut paste to the chicken and stir well and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Now add 1/3 cup more water and milk and cook covered for 10 more minutes.
  • Remove from heat and serve hot with naan, paratha.
