Cabbage Kofta Curry


Ingredients:

For Kofta
  • Cabbage Shredded-2 cups(ପତ୍ର କୋବି)
  • Gram Flour (Besan)-3/4 cup (ବେସନ)
  • Red Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp (ହଳଦୀ ଗୁଣ୍ଡ)
  • Crushed Ginger-1 tsp(ଅଦା)
  • Coriander Powder-1/2 tsp(ଧନିଆ ଗୁଣ୍ଡ)
  • Cumin Seeds- 1tsp(ଜିରା ଗୁଣ୍ଡ)
  • Salt-1 tsp(ଲୁଣ)
  • Oil-to deep fry (ତେଲ)
For Gravy
  • Onion Medium-1 finely chopped(ପିଆଜ)
  • Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp (ଅଦା , ରସୁଣ ବଟା)
  • Medium Tomatoes-2 (pureed)(ଟମାଟର)
  • Cumin Powder-1 tsp(ଜିରା ଗୁଣ୍ଡ)
  • Coriander Powder-1 tsp(ଧନିଆ ଗୁଣ୍ଡ)
  • Garam Masala-1 tsp(ଗରମ ମସଲା)
  • Turmeric-1/2 tsp(ହଳଦୀ ଗୁଣ୍ଡ)
  • Red chili powder-1/2 tsp
  • Salt- to taste(ଲୁଣ)
  • Sugar-1 tsp(ଚିନି)
  • water-1 1/2 cups(ପାଣି)
  • Oil 2-3 tbsp(ତେଲ)
  • Coriander leaves- for garnish (ଧନିଆ ପତ୍ର)
 Method:
  • Boil the cabbage until soft, drain and keep aside to cool down.
  • In a bowl transfer the cooled cabbage and add ½ tsp red chili powder, ½ tsp turmeric powder,Crushed Ginger, Coariander powder, Cumin seeds, salt and add besan along with little water so that small round shaped balls (koftas) could be formed.
  • Deep fry these koftas on a low flame so that these get fried inside out properly.
  • In a thick bottomed pan heat 2 tablespoons of oil and add chopped onion . Sauté until the onion becomes transparent.
  • Add the ginger garlic paste and chopped tomatoes and fry well. Add the coriander powder, cumin powder, and turmeric powder and garam masala to it. Cook on a low flame until oil starts to separate from the sides.
  • Add little water to make the gravy according to the required consistency. Add red chili powder, salt and sugar to it and mix well.
  • Finally add the koftas and stir gently and cook for 2 minutes with lid on.
  • Sprinkle coariander leaves.
  • Serve hot with rotis, Jeera rice.
