Semiya Upma(ସେମିୟା ଉପମା)

Ingredients:

  • Vermicelli/ Semiya - 2 cups(ସେମିୟା)
  • Carrot - 1/2 cup(ଗାଜର)
  • Cauliflower - 5-6 florets(ଫୁଲ କୋବି)
  • Green peas - 1/4 cup(ମଟର)
  • Salt to taste(ଲୁଣ)
  • Oil - 4tbsp(ତେଲ)
  • Mustard seeds -1/2 tsp(ସୋରିଷ)
  • Chana Dal - 2 tsp(ଚଣା ଡାଲି )
  • Ginger(chopped) - 1 tsp(ଅଦା)
  • Onion(chopped) - 1(ପିଆଜ)
  • Green chillies(slit) - 2(ଲଙ୍କାମରିଚ)
  • Curry Leaf - 1 sprig
  • Ground nut - 2 tbsp(ବାଦାମ)
  • Tomato Sauce - 1 tbsp(ଟମାଟର ଶସ୍)
  • Soya sauce - 1 tsp(ସୋୟା ଶସ୍)

Method:  

  • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan and fry the semiya till its became brown color and keep a side. 
  • Heat remaining oil in a pan, temper with mustard seeds,then add chana dal, ground nuts and curry leaves. 
  • Add ginger and onion. Sauté well till the onion turns light brown. 
  • Add green chillies and stir.
  • Add the vegetables, salt and sauté it till the vegetables are cooked properly.
  • Add Tomato sauce and stir gently,then add water, soya sauce and cover it till water boiled.
  • Add cooked vermicelli, salt and stir gently. 
  • Cook for five to six minutes. Remove from heat.serve hot.
