Fish Masala

Ingredients:

  • Fish - 1/2 kg
  • chilly powder - 1-2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Onion(slice) - 2 medium
  • Mustard oil for frying and cooking
  • Salt as per taste
  • Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
  • Tomato paste - 1/2 cup
    Method:
    • Cut ,clean fish and set aside.Marinate fish along with turmeric powder and little salt.  
    • In a non stick pan  heat 1 tbsp. of oil and fry the fish  on both the sides till light brown and keep a side.
    •  In the same pan heat 2 tbsp of oil.  
    •  Fry onion and saute it till it became light brown color.  
    • Add the ginger garlic paste,salt,turmeric powder,chilly powder and fry till you a get good aroma and oil separates from masala.
    • Add tomato paste and saute it well and cover and cook it till 3-5 mins till tomato is cooked properly.
    •  Place the  fried fish over the masala in the pan and coat the fish gently with the fried masala. Cook on slow fire for 5 minutes.
    • Serve hot with steamed rice and dal of your choice.
